What services do you get from your pharmacy company for the fees that are charged?

You have chosen a pharmacy company’s banner to fly as the name of your company. Now let’s examine the fees you will be paying and the service you will get for it.

Banner “A” will charge you to have the banner’s name on the front of your pharmacy and the use of the formulary. Do you get any business support? No.

Banner “B” will help you in the purchasing of your molecules, POS system and the formulary. Do you get any business support? Little to none, OTC flyers. Flat fee.

Franchise “A” will provide you with site selection build out plans, opening credits, front shop help, POS and formulary smaller royalty fee. What kind of business guidance do you receive? Mostly OTC flyers, drop ship, some niche service per charge.

Franchise “B” will provide you with the turnkey pharmacy for a fee and ongoing escalating royalty to a max number and marketing fees. Lot’s of support but mostly on the company agenda.

You can decide for yourself where you land on the types of pharmacy you are in but what I can assure you the services will continue to diminish. The banner owner is at risk of closure and the franchise owner is making money for the corporation thus making them an employee.
